These past few weeks I’ve been adding the finishing touches on completing the Equine Assisted Coaching Association website, which means it will be live and on the world wide web when you are reading this. I am so excited!
The development of the Equine Assisted Coaching Association is evolutionary in that it was a HUGE project and in the making for many years.
I compiled my experience, trainings and materials, and integrated it into creating unique and inspiring programs, so that others can benefit from learning this amazing transformative type of work. (It’s really not work, it’s more of a calling or something you have to do but don’t know why)
What started out as a thought, was birthed and evolved into a wonderful reality, a desire come true, which means during the process I had to explore and understand all of my feelings as they came up. I had to work through a lot of fear and self-doubt, a lot of obstacles and limiting beliefs.
Here are a few of the things I learned:
- I learned that as an adult, I am responsible for my own life and who I want to be, how I want to live, and who I want to spend time with.
- I learned that there will always be fear or some form of conditioning that tries to stop me, but I also am given a choice and can navigate coming out more empowered on the other side.
- I learned that other people’s opinions and directions are given with good intentions, but ultimately I make the final choices and decisions.
- I learned how to research and ask many questions. I am curious and want to know the whys and their answers. (Not just settle for what is written or the common status quo.)
- I learned how to just be, to free my mind, to slow down and rest instead of rushing to do what was the next thing scheduled on my calendar.
- I learned how to listen to my inner voice, my intuition and follow my heart in making conscious and educated decisions.
- I learned there are many gifted and talented people on this planet, that are like-minded on a similar type of journey, and all I had to do was reach out, find them and be part of a supportive community.
- I learned that I cannot get back time, once it is gone, it is a memory. To cherish time and take the time to be with family and friends, (both the two and four legged)
- I learned what a true gift animals are, always waiting for us and wanting nothing in return. (well maybe a treat or a petting hand).
- I learned how to appreciate nature much more and what it has to share. From a sparkling sky blue stream, to fractal patterns on a leaf, to the wild call of a hawk. It’s all ALIVE and right there!
So over the years I’ve learned, how not to follow all of societies rules and play it safe, to trust and let things naturally unfold – to release that which no longer resonates with me – to be open to all of the surprises, mystery and wonder life has in store for me.
Love and horse hugs,
