The creatures that ’inhabit this earth – be they human beings or animals – are here to contribute to the beauty and prosperity of the world. The food we eat, the clothes we wear, have not just dropped from the sky. This is why we should be grateful to all our fellow creatures.” – Dalai Lama
As I approach the holidays and the new year, it reminds me to reflect on how much I have learned and contributed to the world during the past year, and who I really am – and holy smoke, did I evolve into an exciting new level.
As I approach the winter season, it gives me an opportunity to sit in silence among my herd of horses in nature; my friends, my teachers, these magical creatures and to remember to not take this human experience for granted. As life is a treasured gift to behold, with all its beauty, wonderment, and surprises.
Each morning I am so grateful to look out of my windows to see nature’s beauty and bounty, its fury to feathery creatures, to the picturesque hills and fairytale like forests that surround me.
Each morning I am so grateful to start the day being with my horses in the open grazing fields, to standing still and watching the soaring hawks or flocks of sandhill cranes in the deep blue sky.
Each evening I am so grateful to end the day listening to the howling coyotes singing their chorus songs at sunset, or the hooting owls making their mating calls. And Milo my golden retriever joining in as if to create a musical composition of his own for his fellow wild creatures that abound.
And, I am so grateful to have you in my life!
Thank you for the beautiful person you are and sharing a part of your life with me. Thank you for your time, interest and contribution, and working together to create a greater good for humanity, in helping people and animals, so they can live happier healthier lives.
Love and happy holidays to you.
