In this article, you’ll learn 5 core mindsets to help you bring your unique visions to life. These really helped me in addition to staying focused on my mission, my why, I wanted to become an Equine Assisted Coach and develop a Successful Practice, as the driving force.
I invite you to write the list of mindsets and post them somewhere as a reminder. To give yourself time and an honest try, and observe how your visions come into form.
Here are 5 Core Mindsets for Bringing Your Visions to Life
1. Be Optimistic. The way we do business today is changing at a very fast pace. Because of technology and social media, we are now in the information age. No cost to low cost effective marketing is now more prevalent than ever. Small to mid-sized business owners will be driving the economy, as they can make changes as needed.
Equine Assisted Coaches that provide services through their own practice, can choose where they want to work, (at home, public or private horse barns, horse club arenas, nature camps, and different cities). Years ago, in addition to my ranch, I also offered services in a private industrial warehouse, and it worked out really well. They can decide how they want to work (traditionally, holistically, or somewhere in between), and when they want to work (morning, evening, part-time, full-time, a few days a week).
When I started my journey over 11 years ago, learning how to partner with horses, to become an Equine Assisted Coach, I would have never imagined how effective, valuable, and popular this modality would become. As a pioneer, I’ve witnessed its rapid growth around the globe. And because of this, Equine Assisted Coaches are deeply contributing to changing the consciousness of the world.
Equine Assisted Coaches are Great Change Makers:
- They have an inner drive, and approach problems in a holistic, systematic and unique way, using their own life experiences, gifts and natural talents.
- They make great healers and leaders; combining intuitive and logical thinking.
- They understand what clients want. They are creative and develop their services to better meet people’s needs.
- They understand the importance of connection (super connectors) they more they authentically connect with their clients the more likely their clients break through their barriers.
- They continue to learn – is the key to the growth of their business. Personal development, whether investing in self or learning from a horse, is where they outshine…and if they don’t know they get help!
2. Embrace Rick. Successful Equine Assisted Coaches take on greater than normal risk; they are willing to not always play it safe, follow all of society’s rules, and have all of the answers. They venture out, many times into the unknown, to find the answers or allow them to be revealed when least expected. So many times, it’s non-attachment when things happen.
When embracing risk, you will also recognize and accept that you are in an accelerated growth process. What could take years in personal growth is greatly reduced to days and months. You learn what you are afraid of, what you are really good at, what your strengths and weakness are, what or who pushes your buttons, and so much more. It really is a self-transformation journey, while you reach your destination, so worth it!
You get challenged and will have to make decisions, this can be a blessing in disguise. This is a normal process, giving you the opportunities to get more clarity, resulting in observing your practice naturally unfold.
Here’s a natural unfolding example that happened with me. I started out working with children because that is what I saw others doing, so I followed the status quo. But after experience and time, I became aware that the clients I wanted to work with were adults. While I love working with children, I discovered my skill-set and who I provide the best value to is much more in alignment with adults. And my practice grew from there, through one-on-one sessions, private and public workshops and gatherings, university classes, and public presentations.
3. Surround Yourself with Like-Minded People, and People Who are Where You Want to Be. They are the inspiration and support you need to create what you really want. Think about right now who you socialize with, spend time with. Do they support you or drag you down? It is said we are the average of the five people we associate with. Where are you in this?
Work with people who have started businesses, who are successful, have navigated the business growth path. Invest in a class or program, coach or mentor, and do what feels right, this will save you a lot of time and money.
And, even though family members and friends mean well, they may not give you the best advice.
4. Not Everyone Will Support Your Growth. And that is OK, they are on their own path. You will start to attract success, and others will admire you, but some will look at themselves and judge you. This is their conditioned self, their limiting beliefs, thus looking at what they don’t have. You are a leader, a change maker that is meant to be seen and heard, as an inspiration to others. You are planting seeds.
5. Stay in Faith. When feeling fear, confused, frustrated, and distracted, building a business does not only come from what you are doing, it comes from your beliefs. Your practice can only grow as much as you grow. To get to the next biggest level, you have to be committed and have compassion for yourself, even if it means taking turtle steps.
When in fear or self-doubt, say to yourself or out loud,”I’m doing this no matter what, I will not allow my limiting beliefs to control me…all is well.” What will happen, the universe answers, maybe not in the way you expected, but it answers. The universal consciousness, the unknown is a powerful life force and is always supporting you, especially when you are in alignment with what you authentically want. The gates open and synchronicity happens, you will feel supported and guided.
Bonus 6. Treat Your Practice Like a Business, Not a Hobby. It’s great you have visions and want to develop a successful Equine Assisted Coaching practice, but you also need to look at the money. You are in business to make money, so you can keep your doors open, to support you in growing personally and professionally, and to provide your unique services to what clients want now.
Money represents the energy in your life, it is a reflection of your upbringing and belief system, what you learned from others, your culture. Earning an income has absolutely noting to do with whether or not you are a good person. Money is a form of exchange and your work provides great value, which is why you need to believe in compensating yourself properly. And you can give back to charities, good causes.
